Description
Pure performance. Razor-sharp precision. The driver’s Ferrari.
The 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale represents the ultimate evolution of Ferrari’s naturally aspirated V8 supercars — a lightweight, track-honed machine that blends race-bred dynamics with unmistakable Italian style. Built as the most extreme version of the 458 Italia, it is revered for its purity, balance and visceral performance.
Performance & Engineering
At its core lies a 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, producing 597 hp (445 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. This powerplant holds the distinction of being one of the highest-revving and most powerful naturally aspirated V8s ever fitted to a road car.
Power is transmitted through a 7-speed dual-clutch F1 gearbox, enabling lightning-fast shifts and flawless delivery to the rear wheels. The 458 Speciale sprints from 0–100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds, reaching a top speed of around 325 km/h (202 mph).
The car features Side Slip Angle Control (SSC) — an advanced system that optimises traction and balance, allowing expert drivers to explore the car’s full potential while maintaining precise control.
Design & Aerodynamics
Every contour of the 458 Speciale serves performance. Active aerodynamic flaps at the front and rear adjust automatically to reduce drag or increase downforce, depending on speed and throttle input.
The sculpted bonnet, widened track, and distinctive racing stripes underscore its track-inspired design. Lightweight materials — including aluminium body panels, thinner glass, and a stripped-down interior — help reduce overall mass to just 1,290 kg, enhancing agility and responsiveness.
Interior & Craftsmanship
Inside, the cabin focuses purely on driving. Luxurious elements are replaced by functional materials such as carbon fibre, Alcantara, and bare aluminium. The simplified layout keeps the driver’s attention squarely on performance.
The flat-bottomed steering wheel integrates key controls — including the manettino switch, indicators, and engine start button — echoing Ferrari’s Formula 1 heritage. Supportive racing seats and minimal insulation heighten the sensory connection between driver, car and road.
